Emma Lund – Dog Training & Behaviour Services (UK)

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all dog training, behaviour consultation, and related services provided by Emma Lund (“the Trainer”, “we”, “us”, “our”) to any client (“the Client”, “you”, “your”).

By booking, purchasing, or attending any service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

 

1. Scope of Services

1.1 The Trainer provides dog training, behaviour support, and related educational services, delivered in person and/or online, as agreed at the time of booking.

1.2 Services are advisory and educational in nature. The Trainer does not guarantee specific behavioural outcomes.

1.3 The Trainer does not provide veterinary, medical, or legal advice.

 

2. Formation of Contract

2.1 A binding contract is formed when:

  • A booking is confirmed by the Trainer, and

  • Payment (full or part) has been received.

2.2 These Terms apply to all services unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

 

3. Client Responsibilities

3.1 You confirm that:

  • You are the legal owner or authorised keeper of the dog(s) presented for training.

  • All information provided about your dog(s) is accurate and complete.

3.2 You agree to:

  • Follow guidance and training plans provided.

  • Act responsibly and safely at all times.

  • Retain full control of your dog during sessions unless instructed otherwise.

3.3 You acknowledge that behaviour change depends on multiple factors, including consistency, environment, health, and owner compliance.

 

4. Health, Welfare & Disclosure

4.1 You must disclose:

  • Any history of aggression, biting, or dangerous behaviour.

  • Any medical, behavioural, or welfare concerns.

  • Any current medication or veterinary treatment.

4.2 Dogs must be fit, healthy, and appropriately vaccinated or titre-tested (where relevant to the service).

4.3 The Trainer reserves the right to refuse or terminate a session if a dog’s health or behaviour presents a safety or welfare risk.

 

5. Training Methods

5.1 The Trainer uses ethical, welfare-centred, evidence-based training approaches.

5.2 The Trainer reserves the right to decline the use of any equipment or methods deemed unsafe, inappropriate, or unethical.

 

6. Fees & Payment

6.1 Fees are as stated at the time of booking.

6.2 Payment is required in advance unless otherwise agreed in writing.

6.3 Prices may be amended at any time but will not affect confirmed bookings.

6.4 Failure to pay may result in suspension or cancellation of services.

 

7. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy (48 Hours)

7.1 Client Cancellations

  • Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled session.

  • Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice, or failure to attend (“no-show”), will be charged in full.

  • No refunds will be issued for missed sessions.

7.2 Trainer Cancellations

  • If the Trainer must cancel due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, sessions will be rescheduled or refunded at the Client’s choice.

7.3 Packages & Programmes

  • Sessions within packages must be used within the agreed timeframe.

  • Unused sessions are non-refundable unless required by law.

8. Force Majeure

8.1 The Trainer shall not be liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, illness, accidents, or government restrictions.

 

9. Liability & Risk

9.1 Dog training involves inherent risk. You accept full responsibility for your dog’s behaviour and actions.

9.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Trainer shall not be liable for injury, loss, damage, or death involving dogs, owners, or third parties.

  • The Trainer shall not be liable for damage to property caused by your dog.

9.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

 

10. Indemnity

10.1 You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Trainer against all claims, losses, damages, or costs arising from:

  • Your dog’s behaviour.

  • Your failure to follow instructions.

  • Inaccurate or incomplete information provided by you.

 

11. Behaviour Outcomes

11.1 The Trainer does not guarantee results.

11.2 Behaviour change depends on consistency, environment, health, and owner implementation.

11.3 No refunds are provided based on perceived lack of progress.

 

12. Right to Refuse or Terminate Services

12.1 The Trainer reserves the right to:

  • Refuse service.

  • Terminate ongoing work.

This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Unsafe handling.

  • Aggressive or dangerous dogs where risk is unacceptable.

  • Breach of these Terms.

12.2 In such cases, refunds will be considered at the Trainer’s discretion, subject to statutory rights.

 

13. Media & Marketing Consent

13.1 The Trainer may take photographs or videos during sessions for training, educational, or marketing purposes.

13.2 You consent to this use unless you notify the Trainer in writing prior to the session.

 

14. Intellectual Property

14.1 All training materials, plans, videos, and written content remain the intellectual property of the Trainer.

14.2 Materials may not be copied, shared, or reproduced without written consent.

 

15. Data Protection (UK GDPR)

15.1 Personal data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

15.2 Data is used solely for service delivery, communication, and legal obligations.

15.3 You have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of your data.

 

16. Complaints

16.1 Any complaints must be submitted in writing within 7 days of the service.

16.2 The Trainer will make reasonable efforts to resolve disputes professionally and fairly.

 

17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

17.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

17.2 Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

 

18. Severability

18.1 If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

 

19. Amendments

19.1 The Trainer reserves the right to update these Terms at any time.

19.2 The version in force at the time of booking shall apply.

19.3 ​​Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
