About Me

Hi, I’m Emma — qualified dog trainer, rescue-dog specialist, and advanced trick trainer.

My work is built on one simple belief:

When you truly understand your dog, everything becomes easier.

I help caregivers achieve meaningful behaviour change through training that strengthens trust, builds confidence, and brings out the very best in each dog – whether they’re an overseas rescue adjusting to a new world or a family companion who needs clearer guidance and support.

Alongside behaviour work, I’m also an advanced trick trainer. From practical life skills like loading the washing machine, to cooperative care and confidence-building tricks, trick training is one of the most powerful tools we have for building connection, resilience, and joy. I love helping owners discover just how capable their dogs really are.

All of my work is grounded in kind, ethical, science-led methods, following the principles of the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC). That means effective training – with your dog’s welfare at the heart of everything we do.

Testimonials

“We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better trainer for Ozzie when he was a puppy. Emma is absolutely amazing, so friendly, patient, and has such a calming presence. She always made both us and Ozzie feel completely at ease. Ozzie adored Emma and it was so clear how much she genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. We’re so grateful for everything she taught us. I would highly recommend! Thank you Emma!”

– Jamie & Ozzie

“Before finding help, my Romanian rescue dog barked at every sound, doorbell and visitor and was constantly on edge in the home. After working with Emma, I have a calmer dog during deliveries and, with management, can invite guests into our house without my dog getting overly stressed. I can highly recommend Emma, she has transformed my anxious Romanian rescue dog.”

“Emma spent several months helping us with our Westie puppy, Tilly, who struggled with severe reactivity and anxiety. Emma has been absolutely amazing in helping us with training, behavioural guidance and advice, plus supporting us alongside our Clinical Animal Behaviourist. She is a highly skilled dog trainer who seems able to get Tilly to do things we thought would be impossible, while being equally patient with us as she shared the skills and techniques we needed to get Tilly’s challenging behaviours under control. We were very sad to hear that she is moving out of our area and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for support and training for dogs struggling with their behaviour.”

 – Jason

“We started working with Emma when we were having some behavioural issues with our then 18-month-old dog. Two years later, we’ve done everything from intermediate obedience, to scentwork, and more advanced trick training, and Emma has been superb throughout! She is a highly compassionate and professional trainer who takes the time to understand the best way to approach training rather than looking for one size fits all. Her methodologies keep things fun while building up good foundations for more advanced skills later (we never would have known getting a dog to walk backwards was so useful!). We would highly recommend Emma to anyone looking to not only improve their dogs behaviour, but change their relationship with their dog for the better.”

Frequently Asked Questions

My ethos is simple: kind, effective, evidence-based training rooted in the principles of the Animal Behaviour and Training Council.

Training should feel enjoyable - even when we’re working through difficult behaviour challenges.

Dogs learn best when their humans feel confident, so I coach you every step of the way, demonstrating exercises when helpful and supporting your progress between sessions.

Training is available online or in person, either at your home or in suitable outdoor environments.

I regularly work in Tring, Aylesbury, Wendover, Berkhamsted, Chesham, and Leighton Buzzard.

If you’re outside these areas, feel free to get in touch - we can often arrange something.

Absolutely. Most of the real progress happens with you and your dog at home, not just during our sessions.

Online coaching gives you clarity, technique, and step-by-step support - while empowering you to deliver the training your dog needs day-to-day.

All packages include WhatsApp support and video feedback, so you are never left guessing.

You don’t need hours a day. Ten focused minutes can create meaningful change.

My role is to make training easy to fit into daily life. You’ll receive clear exercises, straightforward guidance, and consistent support to keep everything moving in the right direction.

Not at all. I work with any owner who wants structured, positive change and is ready to commit to the process.

Your first session is a detailed consultation exploring your dog’s history, behaviour, routines, and environment.

From there, you’ll receive a tailored training plan and ongoing sessions that take place either online, in your home, or in real-world locations such as parks or public areas.

The aim is simple: give you the clarity, skills, and confidence to continue progressing long after our sessions end.

Yes — trick training classes are launching in Hertfordshire in 2026.
