Trick Training
Trick Training & Advanced Skills
Why teach your dog tricks?
Trick training isn’t just fun – it’s a powerful way to build confidence, improve focus, and enhance overall behaviour. Whether you want to strengthen your bond, help your dog listen more reliably, or enjoy learning together, there’s nothing quite like the joy of discovering what your dog is capable of.
From fun tricks and advanced behaviours, to cooperative care skills to make vet and grooming visits easier, these sessions give your dog mental stimulation and teach you both something genuinely enjoyable.
What we can cover
Trick training sessions follow the same consult-led journey as all other services, ensuring the work is tailored, structured, and aligned with your dog’s needs and goals.
Fun tricks using movement like weaves, walk backwards, spins, and other creative tricks that challenge your dog physically and mentally.
Using positive reinforcement to teach new behaviours, break down complex tricks, and encourage problem-solving.
Does your dog struggle with grooming or vet procedures? Through training, choice and predictable patterns we can make everyday handling and grooming easier and more enjoyable for both of you.
Practical and impressive skills such as shutting doors, collecting the post, or helping around the house.
Activities designed to boost your dog’s self-assurance, curiosity, and enjoyment of learning.
Emma helped us achieve more than we ever thought possible!
We started working with Emma when we were having some behavioural issues with our then 18-month-old dog. Two years later, we’ve done everything from intermediate obedience, to scentwork, and more advanced trick training, and Emma has been superb throughout!
She is a highly compassionate and professional trainer who takes the time to understand the best way to approach training rather than looking for one size fits all.
Her methodologies keep things fun while building up good foundations for more advanced skills later (we never would have known getting a dog to walk backwards was so useful!).
We would highly recommend Emma to anyone looking to not only improve their dogs behaviour, but change their relationship with their dog for the better.
